Five Technologies to Learn about at MODEX 2024

March 4, 2024

Matthews Automation features the latest advances in automation technology at MODEX 2024, Booth B1013

1. Warehouse Execution Systems

Upon entering the booth, visitors can learn about NEXUS, Matthews’ next generation Warehouse Execution System for centralized system control. From the makers of Pyramid Director and Compass CORS, NEXUS optimizes and provides real-time system visibility across our advanced warehouse automation solutions, using real-time data and adaptive learning to make intelligent decisions, balance workflow, and eliminate bottlenecks.

2. Projection Picking Put Walls

Lightning Pick’s latest advances in projection picking and put-to-light sortation are showcased at an interactive demo put wall with projector, specialized light devices and conveyor. The demo overviews multiple types of light-directed technologies, including advanced-functionality modules with photo-eye sensors that enable operators to confirm a put without pushing a button, modules for error-proofing with automated, shuttered cubby doors, and put wall bin illumination designed to boost throughput.

3. Light-Directed Picking and Assembly

Build a complimentary LED flashlight at the Matthews booth using pick-to-light for the error-proofing of parts picking, kitting, assembly, sequencing and other material handling operations. Lightning Pick Image Viewer technology adds a monitor mounted in the work area to display assembly instructions, part images, tool tips and more.

4. Autonomous Mobile Robot and Custom Carts

Robotics integration takes central stage in the booth, with robotic systems as part of our holistic view of warehouse automation solutions, both to increase efficiency and address labor challenges. Featuring an OTTO 100 robot for the transport of a custom pick-to-light cart, Matthews’ expertise in mobile pick-to-cart technology is highlighted.

5. Print and Apply Labeling

The MPERIA A-Series is an automated print and apply labeling machine designed to streamline your production line with optimized labeling with the MPERIA Platform. Tool-free consumable replacement, a simple paper path with fewer moving parts, an advanced safety design, and the compact frame all deliver precise label placement on every single package, carton, or pallet.

Easy Integration

Matthews software can be integrated with any WMS/MES/ERP system and material handling equipment, such as conveyors, carts, ASRS, autonomous mobile robots, robotic arms and other robotic systems. Lightning Pick integrates directly with a customer’s existing warehouse management system (WMS), ERP or warehouse execution or control system, such as NEXUS.

The Right Automation for Your Operation

Matthews is uniquely positioned to help distribution centers and fulfillment operations deploy the right combinations of automation, software and robotics to their specific applications and challenges, with built-in flexibility and scalability for the future.
