Order Fulfillment Execution Software’s New Look to Debut at MODEX 2016

The redesigned graphical user interface (GUI) complements new streamlined operational and systems dashboards for complete, single view insights into function of all light-directed picking systems

Lightning Pick logoGERMANTOWN, WI (December 18, 2015) — Lightning Pick, a Matthews Automation Solutions’ brand, will unveil a modern, fresh and easy-to-navigate graphical user interface (GUI) for its eponymous Lightning Pick order fulfillment execution software at MODEX 2016. The new look accompanies an expansion in functionality, allowing the software to give users a single point of access to multiple Lightning Pick light-directed picking systems in a single facility or across a network of distribution centers (DCs). The application can be used on desktop computers, tablets or other mobile devices.

“We wanted to update our user interface for more simplified usage and viewing across multiple devices and screen sizes,” explains Joe Pelej, Marketing Manager for Lightning Pick. “Further, as Lightning Pick is a Microsoft silver-certified Independent Software Vendor (ISV), we wanted to better align our software interface with advances Microsoft has made across their Office tools and other productivity software.”

The changes, Pelej continues, make it easier for staffers already familiar with Microsoft products to quickly get up to speed on navigating through the Lightning Pick interface.

Lightning Pick software also now streamlines and synthesizes the operation and control of all of Lightning Pick’s light-directed order fulfillment systems in one point of access.

“It’s become increasingly common for an order fulfillment operation or DC network to use several different Lightning Pick solutions, particularly with the growth of omni-channel retailing,” Pelej adds. “The software aggregates data from all of these systems, in real time, for dashboard views via a single point of access. That allows complete collections of performance information to be displayed facility- or network-wide, or for drilling down into unique systems for a closer look at productivity or operational status.”

Lightning Pick offers access to the system through two separate, pre-configurable permission levels. The LP Ops Manager level is intended for day-to-day access by managers and team leaders on the facility floor, allowing them to easily add products and locations, adjust staffing and work zones, expedite hot orders, access real-time productivity statistics, verify order volumes and monitor all system activities. The LP Management Console level allows for administrative back-end system setup of pick waves, and complex system configurations and programming modifications.

The new interface and functionality are available as an application upgrade to existing Lightning Pick software customers, and will be included in all new installations going forward.

A tour of Lightning Pick’s new order fulfillment execution software GUI will be offered in Booth 1037c throughout MODEX 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia—April 4-7, 2016. For more information, contact Joe Pelej at 262.250.2143, or by email at [email protected], or visit lightningpick.com
